MUTTr — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how MUTTr LLC and its parent company, YAKKIT LLC (both being Delaware limited liability companies and both being referred to as “MUTTr,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MUTTr app, website, and related services (the “Service”).  If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service.

1. What We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Audio recordings of your dog’s bark and any other audio you record within the app.

• Text prompts/messages you enter, and content you attach (e.g., images or videos for social posts).

• Account & purchase info (App Store/Google Play purchase identifiers, subscription status; we do not receive your full payment card data from App Stores).

• Support communications (emails, in-app messages).

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Device & usage data: device model, OS version, app version, language, time-zone, performance and diagnostic data, crash logs, and in-app events (e.g., feature usage).

• Approximate location (derived from IP) for fraud prevention and regional features. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you enable a feature that needs it (none by default).

1.3 Information from Third Parties

• App Stores (subscription status), analytics/crash providers, and cloud hosting/AI processors we use to operate the Service.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide the Service: capture audio, generate outputs, store and deliver your files, maintain subscription access, and enable sharing.

• Improve & secure MUTTr: performance monitoring, debugging, fighting spam/abuse, and enhancing features.

• Communicate with you: service notices, changes to terms, and—with your consent where required—product updates/marketing.

• Legal/compliance: enforce terms, respond to lawful requests, and protect rights, safety, and property.

Model Improvement (select the option that matches your choice)

• [Default] We do not use your identifiable content to train foundation models. We may use de-identified and aggregated telemetry to improve accuracy and safety.

• [Opt-in] If you opt in, we may use certain recordings/metadata to improve our models. You can withdraw in Settings and future training use will stop.

• [Never] We never use your content for model training.

3. Sharing Information

We share data only as needed to operate the Service:

• Vendors/Processors: cloud hosting, AI model processing, analytics, crash reporting, email delivery, and customer support tools (bound by contractual confidentiality and data-processing terms).

• App Stores: to manage purchases and subscriptions.

• Social/Messaging platforms: when you choose to share, we pass your selected file to the destination you chose.

• Legal/Compliance: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect users and our Service.

We do not sell your personal information. If “sale” or “sharing” is defined broadly by your state law, you may exercise opt-out rights (see Section 9).

4. Children’s Privacy

MUTTr is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Parents who believe their child has used MUTTr may contact us to delete the account and associated data.

5. Data Retention

• On-device: your exported files are stored where you save them (e.g., Photos/Files). You control deletion.

• On our servers: audio uploaded for processing and the generated outputs are retained for [Retention Period, e.g., 30 days] to enable re-downloads/history, then deleted or de-identified unless needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. You can request deletion sooner (see Section 8).

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data (e.g., encryption in transit, access controls, vendor DPAs). No system is 100% secure; you are responsible for protecting your device and exported files.

7. International Data Transfers

If you are outside the United States, your data may be processed in the U.S. or other countries with different data laws. Where required, we use lawful transfer mechanisms (e.g., EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

8. Your Rights & Choices

• Access, correction, deletion: you can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or delete your account and associated data.

• Consent & permissions: you can revoke microphone or photo/library permissions in your device settings; certain features will stop working.

• Marketing: you can opt out of non-essential emails from within the email footer or by contacting us.

GDPR (if you are in the EEA/UK)

Depending on your location, you may have rights to: access, rectify, erase, restrict, portability, object, and not be subject to automated decisions with significant effects. You may contact [DPO/Privacy Contact] or your local supervisory authority.

U.S. State Privacy (e.g., California)

Residents of certain states may have rights to access, delete, correct, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. To exercise rights or use a Global Privacy Control, contact [privacy email].

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. If changes are material, we will notify you in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date of any such changes constitutes your acceptance of them .
